Upcomming Wordpress Editor Gutenberg

Gutenberg is the upcoming TinyMCE WordPress editor which will be replaced to WordPress 5.0 instead of the current WYSIWYG editor. Currently it is a plugin. The Gutenberg plugin allows you to experience its taste by installing it in your current theme.

Although the current visual wordpress editor has been changed for many years, there has been no change in most of the things. In comparison to that, other platforms like medium or ghost have provided unique and delightful editing platforms for the authors.  So, why not WordPress?

Gutenberg  is a open source software. Gutenberg is a text editor plugin that allows you to designate your post simultaneously. This is a great and powerful plugin that gives you a feeling of designer. While using it you will feel, you are making each part and publishing it at the same time. The shorcode and HTML used in the current editor are not to be used anymore if using this Gutenberg plugin. With this you can create your fantastic post layout which you can imagine. With posting a fantastic post layout, you can convert your normal HTML, CSS-made page to a great designable page.

In Gutenberg, everything is block-

All features of shortcode, embeds, widgets, post formats, custom post types, theme options, meta boxes, and other formatting elements etc. are now covered with Block Concept. Block Concept encompasses the functionality of WordPress so that the user feels comfortable using it. Imagine,  you drag and drop a custom employee block on the client about page, then it will automatically show the image, name, bio, etc. of the employee.

Here, each part of your content is considered as a block. And many options will be available to design your blocks. You can create your content like a Lego Set.

Visual Editing

The big advantage of the block is that you can edit the content in place and manipulate your content directly. Without having fields you can change any source of quote or button text directly. A block is something you wish. As an example, you'll wish to feature a subdued quote as a part of the composition of your text or you may prefer to see the text larger, all option are available in the inserter.

  Installation
  Gutenberg is still Beta version. Then you can install plugins to experience its taste. The installation rule is the same as before.
  
  
  • Go to Plugins → Add New
  • Search  “Gutenberg”
  • Click Install Now
  • Click Activate
  After activating, you will see that your previous editor has changed automatically to new Gutenberg editor.
